In a landscape that’s become stark and with many thirsting for an epiphany in the realm of sound there are few who can truly match what musical artist Sterlen Roberts has accomplish” The son of a Grammy nominated gospel writer/producer, With the love of music running through his veins he systematically tackled instruments without an instructor and without a guidebook. He taught himself in the vacuum he created, the world where he as a producer dictates what sounds make it to the final cut. Sterlen  is working on his first debut album “ALIVENWELL”. His first release an inspiring song called “Live” featuring Terri Odabi a Oakland hometown favorite. They clearly gave us a Grammy Performance.

Sterl – so called by his friends – has not been solely concentrating on his own craft, he has diligently sought out other artists in his field knowing that to do so would only expand his knowledge base and experience. Keyshia Cole, Flo-Rida, Luke James, Lyrica Anderson,Latoya London and Flava Flav , are just some of the many industry heavy hitters that Sterlen has collaborated with. In addition to performers Sterl studied extensively under Devante Swing of Jodeci fame in the same environment that nurtured the likes of Missy Elliot and Timbaland, fine company for an aspiring, multi-talented artist like Sterl. Many Artist from the likes of Beyonce to even top name mixers such as Manny Marroquin have all encourage Sterlen to keep pushin in doing what he does. All of the hard work paid off and is reflected by the quality of the beats he produces, mixing classical piano with hard hitting timps and drums – not to mention that the crowd is equally impressed to find this rapper not only knows how to rock a crowd but can enlighten them with solo piano performances as well, making him one of the only artists to rap and play the piano live in concert.
Born in the city of Oakland, CA, Sterlen Roberts grew up in a Pentecostal household where church played an important role. This is evident in the strains of gospel that erupt in the production he creates, staying true to his roots. While still in high school Sterlen dedicated himself to the 8×12 room where he honed his prowess as an intellectual entrepreneur, not just an artist who has others create for him. It was this kind of dedication that led MTL Records to sign Sterlen and create the vehicle to launch him to stardom. “We have never seen an artist like Sterlen, he is so talented, its almost as if he can do anything, he can perform, amazing piano player, rap, produce, write, he can even direct his own music videos, he is that creative and gifted.

His forthcoming album, “ALIVENWELL” is a profound mixture of hip-hop, R & B and soul and crazy as it sounds POP. Some say Sterlen Roberts is the next Kanye/Drake blended with Timbaland and a touch of R-Kelly thrown in for good measure.
